Gemma Collins & East 17 Launch PlayOJO Bingo

To celebrate the launch of PlayOJO Bingo, TOWIE star Gemma Collins teamed up with Mr Motivator and East 17 for a very special drive-in bingo event in Manchester. As it’s just an hour down the road from me, I tried to get tickets but unfortunately had to settle for watching it via livestream.

The 2-hour event kicked off with Mr Motivator on stage, encouraging the 200 or so PlayOJO customers who attended to hop out of their cars for a bit of light exercise to get the blood pumping. After that, Gemma Collins was introduced as the bingo caller for a number of bingo games with various prizes including popcorn makers, tablets, gadgets and TVs.

At half-time there was a set by the remaining members of East 17 (no Brian Harvey or Tony Mortimer sadly) who played some of their classic hits such as ‘House of Love’ and ‘Steam’. More bingo with Gemma followed, as well as an audience dance competition and finishing up with East 17 returning for an encore to close the event.

The event was held by Park N’ Party, a Manchester based venue which specialises in drive-in cinema and party experiences.

After watching the livestream I was kind of glad I didn’t get tickets, as it did feel a bit weird having such a big event but only a few people there. It would be interesting to know what it was like for those at the event, especially anyone parked way at the back. I also found it a bit odd that Mr Motivator was at this event, given the fact he’s got his own bingo site: Bingo All Stars.

Watching people dancing on cars it just felt a bit unusual for the bingo demographic. PlayOJO clearly trying to win a younger crowd with this event than you would usually expect at an online bingo site.

On the site itself there was a special event in the Equaliser room at the same time, but looking at the player numbers it didn’t seem to be much different from any regular night at PlayOJO Bingo, which is still finding it’s feet after launching a few weeks ago. Still, it’s early days for PlayOJO and I am a big fan of the site so I definitely recommend giving them a try.
