Everything You Need To Know About Online Bingo

Have you tried the Brand new LIVE BINGO?

As I revealed in my last blog post, I'm now actually part of the team at Buzz Bingo and my day job is coming up with the various bingo games, promotions and doing the schedules in each of Buzz Bingo's exclusive rooms.

If you haven't tried it yet I recommend you head over to the site tonight and give it a go.

HowAbout Bingo

HowAbout Bingo was launched in 2020 by online bingo expert Wayne Howe.

Wayne's approach was to be 100% honest with his readers and to publish news and reviews about all bingo sites, not just those with whom he would get some commission. He would regularly record himself playing online bingo and give real commentary and opinion on the latest games.

This unique style allowed HowAbout Bingo to stand out in the market and slowly grow a following, but not yet enough to earn Wayne a full time living from the site.

Wayne funded his work on this site with freelance work, doing projects for various bingo operators. He eventually took up a role with Buzz Bingo where he is now Product Manager for their entire online bingo product.

Wayne has decided to step back from writing on HowAbout Bingo so that he can focus on his work at Buzz. New management will soon be taking over, so watch this space for further news and developments.

Latest Bingo Reviews Added

Since we launched this site in December 2020, we have written reviews for over 60 online bingo brands (and counting) available to UK players. For each site we deposit at least £10 of our own money, play as many of the games as we can and then report back with what we think about the sites.

These are just the latest brands we have reviewed (not a list of the best sites). To see ALL the bingo sites I've reviewed to date head over to the Bingo Sites A-Z page.

Hot Picks

Our hot picks are bingo sites we think you should have a look at if you haven't already seen them. They may be brand new or had something interesting going on worthy of your time and attention.

BetFred Bingo has a new variant, Giddy Up Bingo, so gets in on this. Nice to see some new games being brought to market. Heart Bingo just celebrated it's first birthday since the big relaunch and still appears to be doing well. Then of course, there is Buzz Bingo whohave truly revolutionised the market with their Live Bingo product it deserves some attention.

Why You Can trust HowAbout Bingo

HowAbout Bingo is 100% owned and operated by me, Wayne Howe. It is not run by an overseas corporation or by people who've never played bingo themselves. I'm genuinely an online bingo player and play every week usually in the evenings when my three boys have gone to bed.

I've worked in online bingo since 2006, managing several online bingo sites & communities, including WhichBingo, FreeBingo UK and WhichCM. I'm also the editor of the quarterly BingoData Report, a B2B publication which monitors player activity at the top online bingo sites.

You can find out a little more about me and why I decided to launch this website on the About Us page.

How this site is funded

HowAbout Bingo is completely free to use and doesn't allow advertising. Bingo sites cannot pay to appear on the site. Once reviews are written about each bingo brand, I then look to see if I can find 'affiliate links' for them.

These look and work in the same way as normal links, but if someone clicks through, the link is tracked and may generate a payment to the site. Sometimes this is a one-off fee, sometimes it is a share of profits (i.e. your losses), sometimes a bit of both.

Often these affiliate links will give you a better deal than if you went directly to the website.

I want you to know when links are affiliated

Unlike many sites who use affiliate links, I will be identifying each one with a ⭐ either alongside the offer, link or bingo site logo.

This is so you know which will contribute to the running of this site, so you can make your own decision. Obviously I hope you'll choose the ones that help me continue doing what I love, playing and writing about online bingo!

I'll still be writing about and recommending sites that I'm not affiliated with, which means you'll probably find sites and promotions here that you could never find anywhere else.

Who plays online bingo?

It is fair to say that it is mostly women who play online bingo, but there is a good sized chunk of men who enjoy the game - and I'm one of them. Most surveys I ever did over the years always put the figure around 80% female to 20% male, but after speaking to some operators in 2021 it seems the figure now is more around 30%.

It does differ between brands though. Mecca's stats for 2021 showed 27% of players were male, whereas Dragonfish figures revealed 36% of new signups were men.
