Wayne's 888 Ladies Review

888 Ladies is one of the oldest and most well known brands on Dragonfish. I've tended to avoid it over the years mainly because of how overtly it was aimed at women, so my review is looking at the site in detail for the first time in a while.

The site itself feels a bit dated, and particularly on desktop it looks as though it has been built to rank in Google, rather than to create a good user experience. There is loads of written content about bingo and a huge blog section with dozens of long (boring) articles that look like a keyword-stuffing exercise rather than providing anything genuinely useful or interesting to players.

My advice is to ignore all of this stuff and just get that bingo lobby opened up ASAP. The lobby uses the very latest Dragonfish tech, so it looks nice and has everything you need. The rest of the site is showing it's age and is in dire need of a redesign.

888 Ladies 'My Zone'

One of the features that 888 Ladies shares with its sister sites, Costa Bingo and Wink Bingo, is a central hub which they call 'My Zone'. This is where you will receive messages from the site with deposit offers, promotions and challenges.

The challenges are interesting as they change each day and if you opt-in you can then follow your progress and hopefully pick up some kind of bingo or slots bonus for completing the challenge. All of these offers and challenges will appear as notifications in the lobby, so don't worry too much about looking for this. It will prompt you in due course.

How to join 888 Ladies

The one thing 888 Ladies does get right is the sign up process. The homepage is pretty much just one big call to join, with the offer and a big fat 'Join Now' button in the centre. Click this or the one in the top right and you will be taken to the registration page.

Registration uses the latest Dragonfish software so this part of the site is slick and clean-looking. Just enter a few basic details such as name, DOB, address and email to get started. An automated check will take place to confirm you are over 18 and reside in the UK. That should take just a few seconds and you are then ready to open the lobby.

If for any reason the automated checks do not work, you may be asked to provide additional ID. This is usually in the form of a photo of your driver's license or passport. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does it is nothing to worry about. It is just the procedure forced on the gambling companies by the UK Gambling Commision to check players before they can deposit.

How to find the bingo games

Fortunately, as I mentioned earlier, the bingo games are all in Dragonfish's latest state-of-the-art lobby software. So once you can open this you'll find a great, easy to use experience.

On mobile (if you manage to login) it will open up directly into the lobby, so all the games should be there in front of you. On desktop, you will still have to press one of the large 'Play Now' buttons you can see at the top or right hand side.

Bingo games and slots have their own tabs that you can switch between, and in each of these there are sub-categories that break down the games into managable chunks, such as 90 ball, 75 ball, specials, etc. If you want a good look at all the bingo games scroll right to the 'All' option. This displays the games starting soon, first.

On desktop you'll also notice two additional tabs: My Zone and Live Chat. On mobile these are only visible if you first tap on the icon that looks like a letter coming out of an envelope. Doing so reveals the My Zone inbox and in the right corner there is then a button for 'Help Chat'.

How to make a deposit at 888 Ladies

On mobile, simply login and then click on the green button at the top of the screen. This should display your balance, which if you are a new player will say 0p. Tapping this opens up more balance information as a dropdown menu, and at the bottom you can find a green 'deposit' button. Tap this again to open up the cashier.

On desktop you can get to the same location either by clicking on one of the 'deposit now' banners you may see on the homepage, or the 'cashier' button on the right hand side. You can also press the large 'deposit' button at the top of the game lobby next to your total balance.

Once the cashier pops open, you can choose between the following payment types:

  • Debit Card
  • Paysafecard
  • PayPal
  • Pay by Phone

The pay by phone option only appears if you first select either paysafecard or paypal. Not sure why but this is the same on all Dragonfish sites as far as I can tell.

Once you've chosen your preferred method, you then follow the on-screen instructions including choosing how much money you wish to deposit. By default the £20 button is highlighted, with further options increasing to £200. However, there is a button called 'Other' where you can manually type in a specific amount (i.e. £10) instead.

Don't forget, there is also a promotion code box at this point which you may need to use if you want to take advantage of any deposit offers. Always check your 'My Zone' first to see if there are any codes you can claim with before you proceed.

How to make a withdrawal

To withdraw you must open up the cashier in the same way as you did to make a deposit. When the cashier appears, you can then select 'withdrawal' from the menu and follow the instructions.

The minimum withdrawal amount is £10, so if you have less than this available it will not let you take it out. If you are lucky enough to have some withdrawable winnings, simply follow the on-screen instructions to return the money to the same method of payment as your last deposit.

Don't forget, if you have used any bonuses there may be wagering attached which means you cannot withdraw any winnings from the bonus until certain conditions are met.

How to check bonus wagering remaining

You can view how much wagering requirement you have left on any bonus by opening up the 'my account' screen. On desktop this is found by clicking on the arrow next to your username in the top left hand side when in the lobby. On mobile you have to click on your avatar to get to this same page.

It is possible that you could have claimed multiple bonuses over time, which if so have their own individual T&Cs and wagering. Click on each one and the information for each bonus will be shown.

Free Bingo at 888 Ladies

When you are in the bingo lobby, select the 'Free' heading to show you all the available free bingo rooms. They have six rooms in total, including the £888 Newbie Room where new players get access to 3 days of free bingo which totals £888 in total prize money.

Make sure you check the T&Cs on that as it is subject to change and practically you're not going to play every single game in this room which is open from 7.00am - 10.00pm each day.

All the free rooms are for depositing players only, so my advice is if you do make a deposit, make it a habit to click into all of these rooms and prebuy your free tickets so you don't forget. Free bingo is always oversubscribed with players and usually has very small prize money, so don't get too excited by the prospect.

Does 888 Ladies have an app?

Yes, there is a mobile app for iOS and Android. Usually I don't recommend using the apps, as they don't offer anything different to the mobile sites directly. But on this occasion, because the site is buggy in places due to the dated design, the app is a good option to go with.

Just do me a favour and join via this page first and then download the app later. Cheers. :)

888 Ladies Contact Details

If you're on the site you can find live help from the bingo lobby. On desktop this is one of the option on the left hand side. On mobile you'll have to first open the 'My Zone' area by clicking on the envelope icon, then selecting 'Help Chat'.

Who owns 888 Ladies Bingo?

888 Ladies is owned and operated by 888 Holdings. They are a major PLC who are listed on the London Stock Exchange. They have several other brands which are commonly referred to as 'sister sites'. In addition to these, 888 Holdings also operate over 100 other brands on behalf of third parties.

This is why when you play at multiple Dragonfish sites they all seem so similar. It is the same company and same software that powers so many of them. Although some have little differences, the experience on the whole is the same.
